This Week...

Tuesday was the day! The day that I started my internship for the Summer. Three days in almost four and I really like it a lot. All of the people I have met have been very kind and helpful.

I work from 8:30am to 7:00pm, which is pretty long. I am very tired when I get back to the apartment that I am staying, which is why I haven't posted all week! Sorry! But at the same time I doubt you are really that interested in my life. LOL.

Although my hours are long I am loving it. So far I have been doing a lot of customer service and running errands. It is very fun, in my opinion. I really look forward to helping with other projects. There are three interns including me. One intern has been here for a few weeks now, and she has been helping with other projects along with customer service. She has been very helpful to me and the other intern who also started on Tuesday.

I have very few photos and no photos of my outfits. (Again not like you really care) The one photo I am going to post (above) is the make up that I set up for a photo shoot  that took place my second day. I took the photo so I could reference back to it in the future, when I will have to set makeup up again.

This week was crazy but I loved it. I need to get used to it so I can post more on here!
I hope you had a good week too!

Thank You to Myself!

Look what came in the mail this week!
The Office City Bag from Zara, a little treat I got myself for another successful year of college. BUT it is also really practical for my internship and school, so I think the purchase is
very justified!
So far I am in love with this bag. However, I haven't really had that chance to use it while at home. I did put everything I would need in it while at work and it all fits perfectly and I have so much room left over.

Now, this last photo is so bad on many levels. The fist is I am in sweats, but it is such a gloomy day here in Upstate New York so you would be dressed like me too! Second is the quality. I am so sorry. I clearly need a camera other than my iPhone. I have my heart set on a DSLR for my birthday, maybe that will happen. If not I will be saving up. If you know of a great camera for a great price please let me know! Anyway, I just wanted to show you the size of the bag compared to the size of my body.

Summer Lovin'

It is officially Summer!
I also officially have an associates degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management!
I finished my last final a few hours ago and I am finally on my way home. I am taking the late train from Penn Station and I should be home around 2 am. The train is eerily empty but I like it like that. I have two seats to myself and so does every other passenger. The extra space is a luxury that I welcome.  I can't wait to have a week off  before I start my internship. This week will certainly include sleeping in, eating balanced meals, and long wonderful days with my pups!
I am also excited to spend some time with my sisters this week, especially since I will be in the city most of the summer. School for them is still in session, but I am still excited. It will be nice to have dinner with all the seats at the table filled.

Today I wore red lipstick and a bleached mens shirt because it was all I had left in my dorm. I think I kind of looked cool. However my self-esteem was devastatingly crushed when a homeless man made noises repulsion when I walked past him. Ugh, who is he to judge. Like, I could smell him from pretty far away and I was not making audible noises of disgust. BUT, later in the day a stranger told me I looked like Taylor Swift. I don't see it but i'll take it and self-esttem was restored! LOL

End of Semester Favorites!

So, I have a few favorites that I came across in the past few weeks. I really like them because they are little ways to pamper myself in this really hectic crazy part of the semester with term projects and finals going on at the same time! They are also super cheap and I always love that!

1.  Yes, I went and got another lip-stick from Rimmel matte collection. I loved the other one so much I just had to get another. This on is an orangey red shade, but more red. It also smells really good like the other lip-stick. I have worn it two are three times and I have gotten loads of compliments when wearing it. So  that always boosts the ratings when other people respond well.

 2. Ok, so this is a little embarrassing but still a favorite none the less and besides the embarrassment factor I felt I should still share. It is the Sally Hanson Zero Bumps Bikini Spray. First of all it works and that alone makes it a favorite for me. I have very sensitive skin and my bikini line is no exception, to say the least. So this is like magic in a bottle for me. I have never been more excited to wear a swim suit over the summer since I had to worry about such a thing as a bikini line.
Furthermore, besides the fact that it actually works, it smells really good too, like a very mild vanilla sent, it can fit in a makeup bag easily and you can spray it from any angle.  I don't remember the price off the top of my head but I could tell you now I would pay even more for it than I did. That is how much I LOVE this product! I got this at a Duane Reade, but I am sure it could be found where ever drug store beauty products are sold.

3. I got this lip exfoliator from E.L.F a few posts back when I went to the new E.L.F flagship store. This is my favorite product I bought on that trip. This too, really works. It smells so good and tastes good too. The main exfoliant is sugar so that is lovely. I use it about every other day and since I have started using it I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the state of my lips. Not that they were horrible beforehand, but now ,if I should say so myself, they are lovely! I believe the produc was about $3 if I am recalling correctly.  This too I would be willing to pay more for. I highly recommend it.

4. Last but not least is Lana Del Rey's new song "Young and Beautiful"  from the movie "The Great Gatsby". I have yet to see the movie but this song!! Oh my, I have it on repeat as I type this up. I am no music critic, but I think it is one of the best songs I have heard in a while.
Enjoy!

MET Gala 2013

Sooo... The MET Gala was on May 6th. The theme for this years event was "Punk: Chaos to Couture". Some people killed it and others were killed by it, in my opinion. Since it is now the tenth I figured you all had time to chew over your personal "worst dressed" and "best dressed"  so here are mine.

I love this. I think Cameron Diaz looks amazing in this Stella McCartney caped gown. Electric blue is one of the hottest colors for the season and the studded belt brings enough "punk" to the look without it over powering the look.

Dakota Fanning is wearing a gown by Rodarte. It's ok. I think I would love it if there were no wing appliqués. It reminds me too much of Ed Hardy and he makes me nauseous.

I love Beyonce but not this dress by Kenzo. She looks good considering the dress she chose to wear with those matching boots. Yikes.

Kimye this is just embarrassing. The first time Anna Wintour invites you to the Met Gala and you show up dressed like a couch. That's pretty rude if you ask me. I don't think she will be invited back for next years event. The couch dress is by Riccardo Tisci.

Like I said before the them was "Punk" and Miley looks punk. I do like the simplicity of her Marc Jacobs gown but I wish she could have done something a little different with her hair.  But over all I think she looks great you have to have a pretty much near perfect body to wear a dress like that so go her!

Anne Hathaway looked amazing in Valentino. I also love her blond hair, it suits her very well.

I never ever have anything bad to say about Jennifer Lawrence. She looks amazing in Dior as usual.

Ol' Swifty was breaking hearts not having her heart broken with this sexy number by J. Mendel. Love it. She really always looks good!

Ok, so this is Anna Wintour and she is really a big deal in the fashion industry as editor-in-chief of Vogue and the co-chair of the Met Gala. She had a big say in the theme of the event, but she shows up ready for a garden party in this Chanel gown. Maybe she told everybody that the theme was one thing and she came dressed as another so she would steal the show. Seems like something she would do. She still looks great though.

Madonna go home.
That is all I have to say.

Minka Kelly looks amazing in Carolina Herrera. It is not exactly punk but it is exactly perfect. I love the color of the dress and Minka Kelly's hair and make-up is perfect. Keep it up!

Cara Delevingne was one of my favorite looks of the evening. She was completely punk with her studded gown from Burberry and heavy eye make-up. Love everything about this. She is too cool.

Spring/Summer Must Haves

I cannot wait for the end of the semester. When I finish I am going to treat myself to a little shopping trip for all my hard work. I know I work hard because I have the good grades to prove it, along with the darkest under eye circles ever! lol But really May 20th you cannot come soon enough, so hurry. It is urgent.

I have my heart set on the Office City Bag from Zara, which is the bag below. I just love its clean look and that it is very large with lots of compartments for organization. I think it will be perfect for my internship and school to carry around everything I will need. I would also love everything in the collage below, but to get all the items is out of my budget!

So wish me luck for finals and if you are going though finals as well I wish you luck as well!!

My One and Only

This post is not really related to fashion, but it is about this most beautiful city that I live in with beautiful people.
This past week especially, this weekend I have felt just head over heels in love with this place. Maybe it is just the nice weather or I am spending more time in different parts of Manhattan or that I am wearing dresses and skirts more often, but I am just wildly in love.
My love started to grow early in the week on a quick trip to the bank where I passed Madison Square Park. There is a new art installment there that I did not photograph, but rather the beautiful tulips that were in full bloom. The spring foliage in this city just warms my heart. Then later on in the week FIT students were out on the street filling the sidewalks with amazing chalk drawings. Things like that remind me how blessed I am to go to a school with so many talented people and hat I get to enjoy their creativity.
Now fast forward to Friday, I was supposed to see a live performance at a bar in Greenwich Village, but silly me I didn't look ahead of time to see if they had an age limit, which they did. It was a 21+  venue and being that I am 19, my plans were foiled but one of the things about this city that I really love is, when your plans fall through there is something to do just as interesting and fun right around the corner, literally. So my good friend and I went to KAT'Z Delicatessen, which is a New York land mark , for some late night pastrami. I believe I went home far more satisfied and happy than I would have been if the little concert around the corner worked out.
So Saturday rolls around and I went to a lovely brunch, at the lovely apartment, of my lovely friends, in lovely Harlem. The food was amazing, the company was great, and view from the rooftop terrace on her building, where we enjoyed our meal, was the cherry on top.
Then later that evening I went to the Path Cafe in the West Village for dinner and some live music. It was great and in that moment as the live act was just starting up I realized "I am in love!". I never felt like such a New Yorker like I have in the past 48 hours and I am thrilled by it.

Below are photos from this week/weekend in order of events. Enjoy.

You've Got Mail

Surprisingly, I have been having a hard time falling in love with the art that has been in my Bergdorf Goodman emails lately. However, the information that they contained like designers, trends, fabrics and silhouettes have been have been so helpful in the six terms project I have swirling around me right now.  So if you are a fashion student or just interested in what kind of information they are sharing you should absolutely sign up for their emails!! They can help anyone, I am sure.

Here are my favorite pieces of art from weeks past!
