Writers Block.

Hey Guys,

Lately I have been coming up short on what to post for you all. I don't know weather it has to do with me personally, or that I really have no content, or that I am a little lazy. Because, I actually do have one idea that I think is genius/hilarious but whenever the weekend comes it goes by without a post.

But anyway, I do have a topic (kinda) today and it is about GFC. Sadly, as we all know GFC following will cease to exist on July, 1st. If you didn't know, now you do. I am pretty bummed that all my blogging stuff will no longer be in one place =(. But the good news is that we do have Blogloivn and that keeps pretty much everything in one place. If you don't have a Bloglovin account, you should totally get one and follow me (ha ha).

It has a very similar format to GFC, so for you fellow GFC lovers, it won't be too heartbreakingly different to use. Despite my heart break I really do like it, but if you don't feel like using a reader like Bloglovin I do kindly suggest that you subscribe by email in the subscription box on the right side of of this post!

Thanks all and see you at Bloglovin!

Pounding the Pavement

This post in not fashion related, kinda like the last one. However, I still want to post this because it is about music and music is art and so is fashion. So, there is a little bit of over lap! =P

I don't know if you are like me but I love listening to music while I walk around the city (which honestly is not that safe, my dad would not be pleased.)  or just in general. So for my lovely readers, however few, I created a playlist for the Summer. I know, I don't have the best taste in music (so I have been told. Whatever) but I do like music and I listen to what makes me happy most of the time. So I hope the songs I post below make you happy as well!

1. "Young and Beautiful" - Lana DelRay

I know, I have already posted this on my blog a few posts back, but I really love it. I haven't even gotten sick of yet and although it kinda had a melancholy feel I just cant help but enjoy myself when I listen to it!

2. " Don't Stop Believing" - Journey

An oldie but goodie. This song has been like anthem in my life, however dramatic that may sound. I don't know, if my life is ever a movie this has to be the background music in the part where I am over coming obstacles and achieving great success and happiness. Not that my life has been particularly challenging nor have I been very sad for long amounts of times. Anyway, I think you get the picture.

3. "Diane Young" - Vampire Weekend

This song is so fun! I think perfect for summer and running around doing what ever normal people do during the Summer. I love this song when I am on the Subway and it is so crowded there would be more room in a sardine tin. It is the perfect distraction from smelling the homeless person that is at the other end of the car.

4. "I Love It" - Icona Pop

Truly, not my favorite song. However, I do know it is popular for the summer and a bunch of my friends have been talking about it. So i just figured it would be nice to add it to the list since you make like it!

5. "Run Around" - Blues Traveler

Another song that I love! It is so happy and I cannot get enough of it and I felt that way for some time now. I love most Blues Traveler songs. I honestly have not come across a song of theres that I don't like. A big part of that, I believe comes from their use of the harmonica. I love that instrument. It has such a joyous sound.

6. "Radioactive" - Imagine Dragons

Not a particularly  happy song but a particularly good song in my opinion and still great for summer. I think it would be great to listen to during a kick ass workout!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your top picks for music for the Summer? Be sure to comment below.

Summer Inspiration...

Super slow day in the office yesterday. The customer service lines were down and are still down which is a pretty big issue. Also, since my primary job is customer service I have had not nearly as much to do.
Also, the weather has been super blah. It rained yesterday and is going to rain today.  With the gloomy weather and a little bit of down time I created this collage on Polyvore, to have some summer time cheer and inspiration.

Oh! I almost forgot. I placed my order for the products I get for interning yesterday. I got some really cool stuff. I will certainly be showing you all and I can't wait to do so!

Half Way Point...

So we are about half way through the year and I was just reviewing the my goals for the year. So far so good.

First of all I have increased my number of followers not only buy 100% but by 1200% at 24 followers between GFC and Bloglovin and not including Google+! Which is cool. I am really excited about that. My new goal for the rest of the year is to have more followers than blog posts. So please follow it would mean so much.

Secondly I made the Deans List for the fourth semester in a row. Not to toot my own horn but I do work very hard at school so these victories make me so happy. I have one more semester for this year Fall 2013 and my new goal is to makes Deans List again for that semester.

Another goal of mine was to make connections and I have made some connections in the past 6 months. Until, you put yourself put there you have no idea how many people around you can help you out and want to help you too! For instance, my wonderful cousin was willing and able to put a good word in for me for the internship I have now. I also go to a monthly meeting for Christians in the fashion industry. Through this monthly meeting I have meet many great people there who work at companies I would love to work at some day.

I personally think  my time management has improved. However, I could just be biased. LOL

I still have a few things that I need work on this year, but thats ok. I still have plenty of time. I still need to be more giving with my time. It is much easier said than done.
As for travel, unfortunately the trip I was planning to Australia is not going to happen. =( But, it's totally fine because I am saving lots of money. I am able to spend more and explore the city. Also, if I was traveling this Summer I would not have this internship opportunity! So everything works out for a reason.
Also, I think my personal style had matured but at the same time not really. So I will keep working on that. I also think that is something you work on your whole life.

So yeah. This has been the most effective I have been in accomplishing New Years Resolutions/Goals.

I hope you all are getting done what you wanted to accomplish! If not, don't worry there are still 6 months to go!!

Is this not the craziest sunset you have ever seen? Stunning!

Right Across the Street...

I find it slightly exciting (ok, very exciting) that the office I work in is just about, right across the street from Bergdorf Goodman's.
I walk past it several times a day while running errands and such and I admire the windows whole heartedly. I will have to make a post dedicated entirely to their window displays! I am thinking that I should probably do a post about window displays for each luxury retailer near by. They really are something else.
Anyway, back to Bergdorf's. I have not had a chance to browse the store yet. I know there is a cafe in there somewhere. I am think that I will stop in there for lunch or something. It will most likely be the only thing within my budget, but that is fine because I really love food.
Below, is some art work from emails in the past few weeks. I think they look great. I am also shocked to see that they are already showing and advertising Fall! But at the same time I am not, and that is because  the Bergdorf customer is a fashionable woman who sets trends not follows them. So getting a head start on fall makes sense.

enjoy.
