Here are a few of my favorite photos from the past few months. You can find most of them on my Instagram (@stephsimp819), with a little caption of whats what in the photo.

So be sure to check that out!

Top 5 for Right Now : Winter Edition

First of all, as you look at this list of "Top 5" I am sure you will find a few of my choices to be a little crazy; but lets keep in mind that I created this Polyvore collage in the middle of the night, listening to the new One Direction album, while drinking at least a half gallon of english breakfast tea. My Saturday nights are WILD!
Oh, to be young and free.
The combination listed above, particularly the angelic voices that belong to One Direction, have a strange effect on me. Which lead to choices 4 & 5. I decided to keep them in the list because I think it gives some honest insight to the kind of person that I am, which is strange.
So I am going to count down on this one and address the two odd balls straight away.

5. A Top Hat; What? I don't really know to be honest. I have always found them to be pretty cool and kind of want to own one. However, I think it is pretty hard to pull off a top hat without looking like you are missing the rest of your costume. Also, I always think of the Lindsay Lohan version of Parent Trap, where the mom brings her daughter to the bridal photo shoot and they give the model a white top hat to wear with the veil. Pretty much since then I have thought they were wonderful.

4. A giant yellow diamond engagement ring from Harry Winston. This selection I blame solely on One Direction. There is really nothing more to be said on the subject other than I am a 20 year old woman who has the love of a tween for this boy band, and there is no denying that the ring is stunning. Just let a girl dream.

3. This dress might also be a product of last night, or it might be a sincere selection because  lately I have been all about the deep V on other people. I am not really sure. I think I would look pretty good in a dress like this and would be all about strutting around my little dorm room in it, but the minute the door to room 1512 shuts behind me I would we wishing for that 10 inches of fabric to return and create the modest neckline I generally prefer to wear. Who knows, maybe this is a sign of a personal metamorphosis from grandma to a normal 20 something? (I just scored 42years old on a mental age test, by the way. Should I seek professional help or just buy the dress?)

2. Neon chunky circle scarf is a must have in my book. I love how bright neons bring freshness  and light to the dark short days of winter. Furthermore, I own a scarf just like this from H&M and as weird as this sounds, it is great for meeting guys. The brightness makes you stand out in a crowd and I guess guys feel like it is something nice to comment on. I have gone from talking to -5 men on a daily basis to at least one if I am wearing the scarf. Pretty big improvement.

1. FUR. I love it. Sorry not sorry. I am all about the real stuff, but if your not don't fret there are many a faux fur option out there for you to drape over your shoulders. Anyway, I am in love with this coat. The power blue and that grey fur collar is enough for me to start a savings account for this beauty.

iDiary: Pt. 2

More photos for you all and little update on my life in general.

First of all, I have failed to mention that my full time Summer internship has turned into a part time job for the Fall! I am vey excited and proud that my long hours and hard work resulted in a job offer for the Fall. A real life example that hard word always pays off.
They are being so flexible and understanding with my school schedule. I am really thankful for that.
It is looking like I will have another busy fall semester ahead but being busy is good. It make me feel more like a real adult, compared the pretend one that I am.

I also finally received my Associates Degree from FIT a few weeks ago. Something I am really proud of. I graduated Magna Cum Lade just to toot my own horn a bit. I should have known it that was the case, since I have done well very well in school but it was a lovely surprise to see it on my diploma. Hopefully, it will say the same on my Bachelors degree. =)
Two more years to go.

There is also less than a month of summer to go, it flew by! Meaning that my Fall semester starts one month from today.

The Empire State Building on the 4th. I watched fireworks from friends apartment that night. He has the most amazing view of the Empire State Building. It is so close it feels like it is in the living room with you.

I also haven't told you Hoda Kotb (a host from the Today Show) and I are besties. Just kidding! I saw her on the street the other day running errands for work and asked her for a photo. She was so nice and friendly and really tall.

On the very same day I saw Mr. Jay (the man in the pink suit if you had no idea) from America's Next Top Model. I just snuck his photo like a creep because for what ever reason I was too intimidated to ask him for a photo. I kind  of feel as if this will be one of my life's greatest regrets, but thats not so bad.

I also saw Tommy Hilfiger near the office last Friday.  He was on the phone, and seemed very busy. I figured I that I was better of just keeping the image of him in my mind instead of being a creep and possibly maybe ruining a chance I may never have to work with him. I play it safe. LOL

My Sisters, my mom and I went to thee most beautiful country wedding on July 13th which was also my youngest sisters 16th birthday. She caught the boquet which my Mother was not thrilled about (lol), but they didn't do the whole guarder good luck thing so my mom was relived about that!
The beautiful couple got married under this beautiful  arch, made by the brides brother. So sweet, and I feel lucky to have watched such good people start the rest of their lives together.
Sorry for the poor quality of this photo, but I still think it is great non the less.

And lastly just a few nights ago as I was racing the impending rain home. I made it just in time!

Pounding the Pavement

This post in not fashion related, kinda like the last one. However, I still want to post this because it is about music and music is art and so is fashion. So, there is a little bit of over lap! =P

I don't know if you are like me but I love listening to music while I walk around the city (which honestly is not that safe, my dad would not be pleased.)  or just in general. So for my lovely readers, however few, I created a playlist for the Summer. I know, I don't have the best taste in music (so I have been told. Whatever) but I do like music and I listen to what makes me happy most of the time. So I hope the songs I post below make you happy as well!

1. "Young and Beautiful" - Lana DelRay

I know, I have already posted this on my blog a few posts back, but I really love it. I haven't even gotten sick of yet and although it kinda had a melancholy feel I just cant help but enjoy myself when I listen to it!

2. " Don't Stop Believing" - Journey

An oldie but goodie. This song has been like anthem in my life, however dramatic that may sound. I don't know, if my life is ever a movie this has to be the background music in the part where I am over coming obstacles and achieving great success and happiness. Not that my life has been particularly challenging nor have I been very sad for long amounts of times. Anyway, I think you get the picture.

3. "Diane Young" - Vampire Weekend

This song is so fun! I think perfect for summer and running around doing what ever normal people do during the Summer. I love this song when I am on the Subway and it is so crowded there would be more room in a sardine tin. It is the perfect distraction from smelling the homeless person that is at the other end of the car.

4. "I Love It" - Icona Pop

Truly, not my favorite song. However, I do know it is popular for the summer and a bunch of my friends have been talking about it. So i just figured it would be nice to add it to the list since you make like it!

5. "Run Around" - Blues Traveler

Another song that I love! It is so happy and I cannot get enough of it and I felt that way for some time now. I love most Blues Traveler songs. I honestly have not come across a song of theres that I don't like. A big part of that, I believe comes from their use of the harmonica. I love that instrument. It has such a joyous sound.

6. "Radioactive" - Imagine Dragons

Not a particularly  happy song but a particularly good song in my opinion and still great for summer. I think it would be great to listen to during a kick ass workout!

I hope you enjoyed this post! What are your top picks for music for the Summer? Be sure to comment below.

Right Across the Street...

I find it slightly exciting (ok, very exciting) that the office I work in is just about, right across the street from Bergdorf Goodman's.
I walk past it several times a day while running errands and such and I admire the windows whole heartedly. I will have to make a post dedicated entirely to their window displays! I am thinking that I should probably do a post about window displays for each luxury retailer near by. They really are something else.
Anyway, back to Bergdorf's. I have not had a chance to browse the store yet. I know there is a cafe in there somewhere. I am think that I will stop in there for lunch or something. It will most likely be the only thing within my budget, but that is fine because I really love food.
Below, is some art work from emails in the past few weeks. I think they look great. I am also shocked to see that they are already showing and advertising Fall! But at the same time I am not, and that is because  the Bergdorf customer is a fashionable woman who sets trends not follows them. So getting a head start on fall makes sense.

enjoy.

End of Semester Favorites!

So, I have a few favorites that I came across in the past few weeks. I really like them because they are little ways to pamper myself in this really hectic crazy part of the semester with term projects and finals going on at the same time! They are also super cheap and I always love that!

1.  Yes, I went and got another lip-stick from Rimmel matte collection. I loved the other one so much I just had to get another. This on is an orangey red shade, but more red. It also smells really good like the other lip-stick. I have worn it two are three times and I have gotten loads of compliments when wearing it. So  that always boosts the ratings when other people respond well.

 2. Ok, so this is a little embarrassing but still a favorite none the less and besides the embarrassment factor I felt I should still share. It is the Sally Hanson Zero Bumps Bikini Spray. First of all it works and that alone makes it a favorite for me. I have very sensitive skin and my bikini line is no exception, to say the least. So this is like magic in a bottle for me. I have never been more excited to wear a swim suit over the summer since I had to worry about such a thing as a bikini line.
Furthermore, besides the fact that it actually works, it smells really good too, like a very mild vanilla sent, it can fit in a makeup bag easily and you can spray it from any angle.  I don't remember the price off the top of my head but I could tell you now I would pay even more for it than I did. That is how much I LOVE this product! I got this at a Duane Reade, but I am sure it could be found where ever drug store beauty products are sold.

3. I got this lip exfoliator from E.L.F a few posts back when I went to the new E.L.F flagship store. This is my favorite product I bought on that trip. This too, really works. It smells so good and tastes good too. The main exfoliant is sugar so that is lovely. I use it about every other day and since I have started using it I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the state of my lips. Not that they were horrible beforehand, but now ,if I should say so myself, they are lovely! I believe the produc was about $3 if I am recalling correctly.  This too I would be willing to pay more for. I highly recommend it.

4. Last but not least is Lana Del Rey's new song "Young and Beautiful"  from the movie "The Great Gatsby". I have yet to see the movie but this song!! Oh my, I have it on repeat as I type this up. I am no music critic, but I think it is one of the best songs I have heard in a while.
Enjoy!
