Boyfriend Jeans

So, I don't have a boyfriend and I haven't for some time now. Which it totally fine and great. I have 3,000,000 other things on my plate at the moment. There is no room for romance on that plate right now.

However, I do have some room for shopping on that plate. Who doesn't?

On this past Saturday I popped into my local Forever 21 looking for jeans because I left one of my favorite pairs at home the weekend before and I didn't want to do laundry.
Anyway, I found a pair of boyfriend jeans that I am in love with, probably more than I will ever love a man. They fit perfectly and are so comfortable and look sooo cute. They also saved me sooo much time, now I don't have to go on dates, trick a guy into liking me then borrow his jeans in order to wear "boyfriend jeans". Thank you my beautiful darling Forever 21 Jeans. We will be together forever or at least until you are thread bare.

At first, when I tired them on I wasn't sure how I felt about the wider cut of the jeans. I am a skinny jeans kinda gal. So, at first I was like "I look fat.", but then I tried them on with a few other things and I was like "Ok, they are cute even if I look a little heavier. At least I'll look a little trendy." Then I got home and put them on again because I am crazy and this is my shopping process and I was like "Ok, these are cute and so am I. I don't look heavier AT ALL. I'm crazy." Then, I wore them all day on Sunday and the Homeless Guy around the corner told me I was a "Cutie". So, needless to say I love them now. I even took a nap in them, because I just happened to fall asleep in them in the middle of the day, and I swear it was the best nap of my life.

So forget getting yourself a boyfriend and get your self a pair of Boyfriend Jeans.

Here's a super poor quality image of by beloved jeans.

iDiary: Pt. 2

More photos for you all and little update on my life in general.

First of all, I have failed to mention that my full time Summer internship has turned into a part time job for the Fall! I am vey excited and proud that my long hours and hard work resulted in a job offer for the Fall. A real life example that hard word always pays off.
They are being so flexible and understanding with my school schedule. I am really thankful for that.
It is looking like I will have another busy fall semester ahead but being busy is good. It make me feel more like a real adult, compared the pretend one that I am.

I also finally received my Associates Degree from FIT a few weeks ago. Something I am really proud of. I graduated Magna Cum Lade just to toot my own horn a bit. I should have known it that was the case, since I have done well very well in school but it was a lovely surprise to see it on my diploma. Hopefully, it will say the same on my Bachelors degree. =)
Two more years to go.

There is also less than a month of summer to go, it flew by! Meaning that my Fall semester starts one month from today.

The Empire State Building on the 4th. I watched fireworks from friends apartment that night. He has the most amazing view of the Empire State Building. It is so close it feels like it is in the living room with you.

I also haven't told you Hoda Kotb (a host from the Today Show) and I are besties. Just kidding! I saw her on the street the other day running errands for work and asked her for a photo. She was so nice and friendly and really tall.

On the very same day I saw Mr. Jay (the man in the pink suit if you had no idea) from America's Next Top Model. I just snuck his photo like a creep because for what ever reason I was too intimidated to ask him for a photo. I kind  of feel as if this will be one of my life's greatest regrets, but thats not so bad.

I also saw Tommy Hilfiger near the office last Friday.  He was on the phone, and seemed very busy. I figured I that I was better of just keeping the image of him in my mind instead of being a creep and possibly maybe ruining a chance I may never have to work with him. I play it safe. LOL

My Sisters, my mom and I went to thee most beautiful country wedding on July 13th which was also my youngest sisters 16th birthday. She caught the boquet which my Mother was not thrilled about (lol), but they didn't do the whole guarder good luck thing so my mom was relived about that!
The beautiful couple got married under this beautiful  arch, made by the brides brother. So sweet, and I feel lucky to have watched such good people start the rest of their lives together.
Sorry for the poor quality of this photo, but I still think it is great non the less.

And lastly just a few nights ago as I was racing the impending rain home. I made it just in time!

Hopeless: Pt. 1

Ok, first of all I know I am so lame and that is ok!

Secondly, I am a hopeless romantic always have been and I always will be. Way back when I made my Facebook account, I put in the little bio thing that "I love love". I have looked at that so many times, thinking how lame I am but always leaving it because it is so true about me.

So naturally one thing I love is stylish couples as lame as that is. I peruse photos of them on Pinterest and just pin away. I know that they are likely models and some I recognize as actors and such. But that hopeless romantic in me can help but hope that there is some love between them. That they don't just look good together just because of the clothing but that they look good together because they care about each other. (Like I said I am hopeless)

Well I hope you don't think I am too strange, but please enjoy the photos because I don't think this will be the last post in this genre. I think they are even better when the idea that the people in them are together.

(Also, I clearly have a thing for crazy hair and facial hair.)

End of Semester Favorites!

So, I have a few favorites that I came across in the past few weeks. I really like them because they are little ways to pamper myself in this really hectic crazy part of the semester with term projects and finals going on at the same time! They are also super cheap and I always love that!

1.  Yes, I went and got another lip-stick from Rimmel matte collection. I loved the other one so much I just had to get another. This on is an orangey red shade, but more red. It also smells really good like the other lip-stick. I have worn it two are three times and I have gotten loads of compliments when wearing it. So  that always boosts the ratings when other people respond well.

 2. Ok, so this is a little embarrassing but still a favorite none the less and besides the embarrassment factor I felt I should still share. It is the Sally Hanson Zero Bumps Bikini Spray. First of all it works and that alone makes it a favorite for me. I have very sensitive skin and my bikini line is no exception, to say the least. So this is like magic in a bottle for me. I have never been more excited to wear a swim suit over the summer since I had to worry about such a thing as a bikini line.
Furthermore, besides the fact that it actually works, it smells really good too, like a very mild vanilla sent, it can fit in a makeup bag easily and you can spray it from any angle.  I don't remember the price off the top of my head but I could tell you now I would pay even more for it than I did. That is how much I LOVE this product! I got this at a Duane Reade, but I am sure it could be found where ever drug store beauty products are sold.

3. I got this lip exfoliator from E.L.F a few posts back when I went to the new E.L.F flagship store. This is my favorite product I bought on that trip. This too, really works. It smells so good and tastes good too. The main exfoliant is sugar so that is lovely. I use it about every other day and since I have started using it I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the state of my lips. Not that they were horrible beforehand, but now ,if I should say so myself, they are lovely! I believe the produc was about $3 if I am recalling correctly.  This too I would be willing to pay more for. I highly recommend it.

4. Last but not least is Lana Del Rey's new song "Young and Beautiful"  from the movie "The Great Gatsby". I have yet to see the movie but this song!! Oh my, I have it on repeat as I type this up. I am no music critic, but I think it is one of the best songs I have heard in a while.
Enjoy!

My One and Only

This post is not really related to fashion, but it is about this most beautiful city that I live in with beautiful people.
This past week especially, this weekend I have felt just head over heels in love with this place. Maybe it is just the nice weather or I am spending more time in different parts of Manhattan or that I am wearing dresses and skirts more often, but I am just wildly in love.
My love started to grow early in the week on a quick trip to the bank where I passed Madison Square Park. There is a new art installment there that I did not photograph, but rather the beautiful tulips that were in full bloom. The spring foliage in this city just warms my heart. Then later on in the week FIT students were out on the street filling the sidewalks with amazing chalk drawings. Things like that remind me how blessed I am to go to a school with so many talented people and hat I get to enjoy their creativity.
Now fast forward to Friday, I was supposed to see a live performance at a bar in Greenwich Village, but silly me I didn't look ahead of time to see if they had an age limit, which they did. It was a 21+  venue and being that I am 19, my plans were foiled but one of the things about this city that I really love is, when your plans fall through there is something to do just as interesting and fun right around the corner, literally. So my good friend and I went to KAT'Z Delicatessen, which is a New York land mark , for some late night pastrami. I believe I went home far more satisfied and happy than I would have been if the little concert around the corner worked out.
So Saturday rolls around and I went to a lovely brunch, at the lovely apartment, of my lovely friends, in lovely Harlem. The food was amazing, the company was great, and view from the rooftop terrace on her building, where we enjoyed our meal, was the cherry on top.
Then later that evening I went to the Path Cafe in the West Village for dinner and some live music. It was great and in that moment as the live act was just starting up I realized "I am in love!". I never felt like such a New Yorker like I have in the past 48 hours and I am thrilled by it.

Below are photos from this week/weekend in order of events. Enjoy.

Sunday is my Fun Day

Today my lovely mother came in to the city so we could spend the day together. She arrived just before nine and just hopped on the train headed home at 5:15. We went to church ( C3 Manhattan, check it out if you are in to that sort of thing.) , walked the Brooklyn Bridge, I accidentally stole a news paper (Sorry Starbucks), we waited on line for a hour at Shake Shack (always worth the wait), and then rushed back to the train station. At the train station though, I met a really lovely women from upstate New York, dropping her mom off to head back up state as well, who went to FIT like I do and is now working at Diane VonFurstenberg.
She gave me her card and told me to contact her about anything "personal or professionally or whatever". I plan on taking her up on that and hopefully it will turn in to something. It is always a pleasure to meet kind, friendly people who are making it in the fashion industry.

Walking the Brooklyn Bridge.

The fancy-schmancy business card of my new acquaintance.

Things I am Loving!!

I needed a change as of recently and I decided that change would be wearing lip stick.  I usually go for a hair cut when I need a change, but lipstick is way cheaper and less of a commitment. So I picked up this Rimmel matte lipstick and have been wearing it non-stop. It is fairly long lasting and it smells really good, which I was surprised about. I love it and I am eager to get my hands on another shade from their matte collection.
I know nothing about make-up really. I know I like to wear it and I know that enjoy putting it on but I don't know anything much more than that. I do know that I love this BB Cream from Rimmel. I don't even know how to apply it , I have been using a makeup sponge and that has been working just fine. BUT I still love it and I bet I would love it even more if I knew what I was doing. It has good coverage and feels lightweight. If you know anything about BB Creams please comment below. I would love to learn more.
I got these darling studs at a second hand store and I love them. Not much more to say about them than that!
These too are from a second hand store. How cool are they?! I can't wait to wear them.
This nail polish is the main reason I decided to write this post. I put it on last Wednesday and took it off today (the next Thursday) just as it was starting to chip. I love the color and I really love how long it stayed on with out chipping! It reminds me of a fish scales or something aquatic. I don't think that is appealing to most people but it is to me!

Spring Break.

I have had better spring breaks by a long shot in my relatively short life time than the one I am currently  in. However, it has been relaxing and wonderful to be with my parents, sisters, pets, sleeping in my bed, eating home cooked meals, and basically living in yoga pants and over sized t-shirts for the whole week.
A week home in the woods , with no neighbors, a 15 minute ride to town, sketchy cell phone service, and a climate that is still very much winter, reminds me how much I love NYC. I love this place too, just as much, maybe even more. But, it reminds me how blessed I am to be able to live and go to school in the most amazing city in the world (in my opinion).  I am so blessed to have a family that is there for me and encourages me to pursue my goals and dreams in a place that most of them fell indifferently at best about. I am blessed that this place I call home is my escape from New York, and New York is my escape from here.

Anyhow, I don't have much to write about on the fashion forefront since being home except for my Bergdorf Goodman emails, which have been just gorgeous. Here are a few of my favorite from this week and a few past.
