Going Global!

Ha! Kinda sorta not really....
Soo according to my "Blogger Dashboard" I have viewers in Germany, Australia, Russia, The U.K., Indonesia, France, Sweden, Ukraine, Cyprus, Egypt and of course the U.S. I would love for those who view this post to comment below where you are from and if feel so inclined follow away! If you contribute to a blog of your own leave the link in the comment and I will be sure to check it out!

This is a  photo of my cat Raymond. I  took the photo myself over my crazy wild spring break  =) . He has nothing to do with the post other than me wanting a photo in the post. But now that I think about it people love cats all over the world which this post is about and on top of that the internet loves cats. So I guess it kinda fits?

Spring Break.

I have had better spring breaks by a long shot in my relatively short life time than the one I am currently  in. However, it has been relaxing and wonderful to be with my parents, sisters, pets, sleeping in my bed, eating home cooked meals, and basically living in yoga pants and over sized t-shirts for the whole week.
A week home in the woods , with no neighbors, a 15 minute ride to town, sketchy cell phone service, and a climate that is still very much winter, reminds me how much I love NYC. I love this place too, just as much, maybe even more. But, it reminds me how blessed I am to be able to live and go to school in the most amazing city in the world (in my opinion).  I am so blessed to have a family that is there for me and encourages me to pursue my goals and dreams in a place that most of them fell indifferently at best about. I am blessed that this place I call home is my escape from New York, and New York is my escape from here.

Anyhow, I don't have much to write about on the fashion forefront since being home except for my Bergdorf Goodman emails, which have been just gorgeous. Here are a few of my favorite from this week and a few past.

Vocabulary

I was in class the other day and my professor used the term "Whisper Fashion".

He defined it as wearing items of clothing that you cannot tell where you bought them from. That what you are wearing does not have loud flashy logos and labels all over.

In his opinion this is the best way to dress. It creates an air of mystery about the person, and you are looking at a person for their style not just the name brand they are wearing. I love this. I am always laughing to myself when I see people covered in labels ,high end or not, and they think they are hot stuff and on trend. BUT, really they just look like misguided, unfashionable, walking billboards.

& Woman Should Be Bold

If man should be brave, then woman should be bold. She should be bold in high contrast clean lines and statement accessories. I love this trend. It has a lot of room for originality when it comes to accessorizing and I feel like no two looks could be the same. Also,  It is a classic look that looks great on everyone.

P.S
I love Polyvore!

Emails from Bergdorf Goodman.

I have recently just subscribed to Bergdorf Goodman's email list in hopes of winning a $5,000.00 gift certificate which I did not win =(. However, I chose to stay on the mailing list because these emails are filled great art work and the latest trends. Secondly, I find interesting to watch and see what high end fashion retailing is doing in terms of promotion and reaching out to their customers. I just like to keep mental notes of inspiration and since they know what they are doing, to say the least. I might as well take a page from their book.

So, below I have some of my favorite art work form the emails so far.

Spring is Here!

Spring has sprung today in The Big Apple and I dressed for the occasion! Today I wore my new Forever 21 coral sweater over a Nasty Gal polka-dotted sheer button up, with my new statement necklace and earrings ,that I have had for a while, from Forever 21. My pants are black Bull Head Jeans from Pacsun.

I have the best view!

Sunday.

So I am thinking that I won't do a "Quote Sunday" every Sunday because I don't post everyday and the Sunday quote posts wont have have much material in between  them. So I am thinking at least once a month. What do you  think?
Anyhow this Sunday's quote is:

" Nothing makes a women more beautiful than the belief that she is beautiful. "

Affordability Is In. (In My Opinion)

Fashion is clearly one thing that I love. However, there is another thing that I love almost just as much, and that is affordable fashion. As a fashion student there is pressure to dress well which I am totally fine with but I also have limited funds like the average college student. That is why I love Forever 21, H&M , T.J Maxx, etc. I love places because you can find the latest trends and look great with out burning a hole in your handbag. One of the latest trends I have been pining after has been the "haute sweatshirt". Which basically is just a sweatshirt that you can dress up. I always love when comfort and fashion collide.

The sweatshirt  in this case, is really a just a rib knit sweater in the traditional shape of a sweatshirt. I would pair this shirt with a button up underneath and a statement necklace. The color is perfect spring as it will pair great with white jeans, which are a must this spring.

I really adore this necklace. I would say that my personal style is more feminine than anything else. Although  it is very feminine this is the perfect statement necklace to carry me from Winter to Spring as we enter March.

I love this t-shirt because it is a twist on the classic white "T". Around the neck, sleeves and the pocket is a faux satin trim. It really dresses up the t-shirt. I think this shirt would look best paired with black skinny jeans and ankle boots.

Lastly, here are a the sunglasses that I mentioned a few posts back. These are the only item in this post that I  did not get from Forever 2. I actually got them from Loehmann's, which is a discount retailer. I do warn if you shop there to look carefully. They do get a lot of not so great over stock from other stores, however you do find some great things with searching like these sunglasses in my opinion.

Lastly, below are some photos form HARPER BAZAAR street style that showcase the "Haute Sweatshirt"trend from London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. These ladies are really doing it right!
