Top 5 for Right Now : Winter Edition

First of all, as you look at this list of "Top 5" I am sure you will find a few of my choices to be a little crazy; but lets keep in mind that I created this Polyvore collage in the middle of the night, listening to the new One Direction album, while drinking at least a half gallon of english breakfast tea. My Saturday nights are WILD!
Oh, to be young and free.
The combination listed above, particularly the angelic voices that belong to One Direction, have a strange effect on me. Which lead to choices 4 & 5. I decided to keep them in the list because I think it gives some honest insight to the kind of person that I am, which is strange.
So I am going to count down on this one and address the two odd balls straight away.

5. A Top Hat; What? I don't really know to be honest. I have always found them to be pretty cool and kind of want to own one. However, I think it is pretty hard to pull off a top hat without looking like you are missing the rest of your costume. Also, I always think of the Lindsay Lohan version of Parent Trap, where the mom brings her daughter to the bridal photo shoot and they give the model a white top hat to wear with the veil. Pretty much since then I have thought they were wonderful.

4. A giant yellow diamond engagement ring from Harry Winston. This selection I blame solely on One Direction. There is really nothing more to be said on the subject other than I am a 20 year old woman who has the love of a tween for this boy band, and there is no denying that the ring is stunning. Just let a girl dream.

3. This dress might also be a product of last night, or it might be a sincere selection because  lately I have been all about the deep V on other people. I am not really sure. I think I would look pretty good in a dress like this and would be all about strutting around my little dorm room in it, but the minute the door to room 1512 shuts behind me I would we wishing for that 10 inches of fabric to return and create the modest neckline I generally prefer to wear. Who knows, maybe this is a sign of a personal metamorphosis from grandma to a normal 20 something? (I just scored 42years old on a mental age test, by the way. Should I seek professional help or just buy the dress?)

2. Neon chunky circle scarf is a must have in my book. I love how bright neons bring freshness  and light to the dark short days of winter. Furthermore, I own a scarf just like this from H&M and as weird as this sounds, it is great for meeting guys. The brightness makes you stand out in a crowd and I guess guys feel like it is something nice to comment on. I have gone from talking to -5 men on a daily basis to at least one if I am wearing the scarf. Pretty big improvement.

1. FUR. I love it. Sorry not sorry. I am all about the real stuff, but if your not don't fret there are many a faux fur option out there for you to drape over your shoulders. Anyway, I am in love with this coat. The power blue and that grey fur collar is enough for me to start a savings account for this beauty.

Hello My Little Blog

Hello My Little Blog,

It has been so long since I have posted, I feel like I need to reintroduce myself or at the very least bring you up to speed on my life a little bit.

I honestly don't even remember where I left off, but I do know that my life was going super crazy in a good way with my Summer internship and I literally felt like I did not have enough hours in the day. I would get home from my 10hr work day and think to myself "What do I do? Eat, Sleep or Blog Post?"

As you can see I chose to eat and sleep! And I am so sorry for that! But, anyway my internship offered me a paying job in the more traditional sense of an hourly wage, compared to a stipend. So I have been working and going to school. I am feeling almost like 1/2 of an adult, and I LOVE it. When school is in session I work fewer hours, but there is still class and assignments to complete. So, again I am forced to choose between eating, sleeping and posting.

Now that the semester is coming to an end I feel like I have time to do all three! Hooray! Over winter break and into next semester I am going to post more frequently, I promise. This long hiatus is really lame. But good thing I can't get fired from this or I would have been canned sometime ago.

Anyhow, It feels great to be back!

Now ogle over some of my favorite art work from the Bergdorf Goodman emails from the last few months until my next post.  Don't forget to follow and I will write soon!

iDiary: Pt. 2

More photos for you all and little update on my life in general.

First of all, I have failed to mention that my full time Summer internship has turned into a part time job for the Fall! I am vey excited and proud that my long hours and hard work resulted in a job offer for the Fall. A real life example that hard word always pays off.
They are being so flexible and understanding with my school schedule. I am really thankful for that.
It is looking like I will have another busy fall semester ahead but being busy is good. It make me feel more like a real adult, compared the pretend one that I am.

I also finally received my Associates Degree from FIT a few weeks ago. Something I am really proud of. I graduated Magna Cum Lade just to toot my own horn a bit. I should have known it that was the case, since I have done well very well in school but it was a lovely surprise to see it on my diploma. Hopefully, it will say the same on my Bachelors degree. =)
Two more years to go.

There is also less than a month of summer to go, it flew by! Meaning that my Fall semester starts one month from today.

The Empire State Building on the 4th. I watched fireworks from friends apartment that night. He has the most amazing view of the Empire State Building. It is so close it feels like it is in the living room with you.

I also haven't told you Hoda Kotb (a host from the Today Show) and I are besties. Just kidding! I saw her on the street the other day running errands for work and asked her for a photo. She was so nice and friendly and really tall.

On the very same day I saw Mr. Jay (the man in the pink suit if you had no idea) from America's Next Top Model. I just snuck his photo like a creep because for what ever reason I was too intimidated to ask him for a photo. I kind  of feel as if this will be one of my life's greatest regrets, but thats not so bad.

I also saw Tommy Hilfiger near the office last Friday.  He was on the phone, and seemed very busy. I figured I that I was better of just keeping the image of him in my mind instead of being a creep and possibly maybe ruining a chance I may never have to work with him. I play it safe. LOL

My Sisters, my mom and I went to thee most beautiful country wedding on July 13th which was also my youngest sisters 16th birthday. She caught the boquet which my Mother was not thrilled about (lol), but they didn't do the whole guarder good luck thing so my mom was relived about that!
The beautiful couple got married under this beautiful  arch, made by the brides brother. So sweet, and I feel lucky to have watched such good people start the rest of their lives together.
Sorry for the poor quality of this photo, but I still think it is great non the less.

And lastly just a few nights ago as I was racing the impending rain home. I made it just in time!

Hopeless: Pt. 1

Ok, first of all I know I am so lame and that is ok!

Secondly, I am a hopeless romantic always have been and I always will be. Way back when I made my Facebook account, I put in the little bio thing that "I love love". I have looked at that so many times, thinking how lame I am but always leaving it because it is so true about me.

So naturally one thing I love is stylish couples as lame as that is. I peruse photos of them on Pinterest and just pin away. I know that they are likely models and some I recognize as actors and such. But that hopeless romantic in me can help but hope that there is some love between them. That they don't just look good together just because of the clothing but that they look good together because they care about each other. (Like I said I am hopeless)

Well I hope you don't think I am too strange, but please enjoy the photos because I don't think this will be the last post in this genre. I think they are even better when the idea that the people in them are together.

(Also, I clearly have a thing for crazy hair and facial hair.)

Sunday Quote Day / / On Monday

Hey Guys!

I hope you all had as good of a weekend that I did!
I went to the most beautiful country wedding that there may have ever been and spent a lot of time with my family. I am so lucky to have such a wonderful people as family.

So this quote also kinda goes with the weekend as well. A few people close to me, that I saw this weekend, are really hurting either physically or emotionally or both.

I think this quote is perfect because, in a hard time people need to know that it will get better. Also, I think they should use this experience for good. Like, giving advice to a friend going through the same thing you went through. Or calling on the strength you found in your self through one situation for another different but still hard time.

It is no easy thing to do, but still a good thing to try. I try to look ahead like this. I find it really helps. I hope it can help for you too!

iDiary: Pt. 1

Some photos from the past few weeks of my life. Not super interesting or exciting unless you're me. lol

First off, a supper huge Congratulations to my genius sister and the Class of 2013. She graduated from High School at the end of June. She is off to college in the Fall. So proud of her and excited for her as her dreams come true and she starts the next chapter of her life. Congrats Sam!

A few weeks before my one sister graduated from high school, my youngest sister went to junior prom as a sophomore (I am the oldest of 3 sisters). Above is "prom prep" I did her make up while my mom did her hair.

The finished look! Here she is with her date and my dad. Doesn't she look lovely even with her eyes closed?!

A slice of my back yard from home. Polar opposite of NYC, but I love both extremes. I was out in the woods looking for my dogs who decided that they were join to take themselves out for a hike.

I did not get a tattoo, but I did get a piercing. However, the piercing selection did not provide such an instagram opportunity as the tattoo selection did. =P

I have also become quite the barista in the office. I am so proud of that drink! ^^^

So Much, Maybe too Much?

Hi Everyone!
I hope your July is going wonderfully for you and that you had a happy, healthy and safe fourth of July! I spent mine in the city. During the day I went to a street fair in the Financial District. It was pretty fun but I think I really enjoyed it because I got free food. Free food always makes for a good time! Later in the evening I watched the Macy's fireworks from a friends apartment. It was nice to watch them with out the crowds and to be in air conditioning. However, I did miss being home with my family going to the local parade, seeing friends from high school, and watching fireworks up close. But change is good and although this fourth was different it was still very nice!

So the main reason behind this post is about all the black and white I have been seeing in my Bergdorf Goodman  emails. The photos and the clothing are all beautiful, but frankly I am so over black and white. It looks great but I want to see something new. As a fashion student I wear a lot of black which is a little ironic, but seeing it in photos and in fashion editorials is boring.

Does anyone feel the same way? Or am I the only one? Please comment below and let me know what you think. I would love to know!

Top 5 for Right Now

top 5

I have a serious itch to go shopping, but honestly when do I not have that itch. Above are a few things that I desire.

1. I honestly love Doc. Martins. I know they are not to everyones taste but I kind of think that they are the super shoe being both trendy and utilitarian. I personally love the way a really feminine dress looks with combat boots. I love the juxtaposition.

2. That kind of leads into item number two on the list. I most likely would not pair combat boots with this number. However, I think barefoot on the beach would be a perfect combo. I need this dress (or one like it) and a trip to the beach pronto.

3. This ombre sweater dress with leggings and combat boots would be my ideal Fall semester outfit. I also cannot really wait for the Fall. Although summer is great, for right now, I am really looking forward to Fall. I am sure I will regret said statement once I am up to my eyes in school work, but for now I am excited for Fall to arrive.

4. Nothing new here with the classic cat eye, except that I have been wearing this way more often than I usually do. It has in part do to with a product I received at part of my stipend from my internship. I am totally going to do a post about this product. It is the coolest product and my favorite so far!!

5. I am usually fan of the "statement necklace" (still love them, and always will), but lately I have been a super fan of the "understatement necklace". Simple but noticeable. I love it. I feel that it gives the outfit a clean pulled together look.  I enjoy wearing "understatement necklaces" with just white t-shirts and jeans. If gives off the air of "I am naturally stylish so stylish in fact that I look stylish in a white t-shirt and jeans, not that I feel bad about my self for the 2 slices of cake I ate at 2 in the morning and now my jeans feel tight."LOL

Also friends, sorry I that I have been a little absent this past June. But July is here now and July will be better! Hooray for July!
