Boyfriend Jeans

So, I don't have a boyfriend and I haven't for some time now. Which it totally fine and great. I have 3,000,000 other things on my plate at the moment. There is no room for romance on that plate right now.

However, I do have some room for shopping on that plate. Who doesn't?

On this past Saturday I popped into my local Forever 21 looking for jeans because I left one of my favorite pairs at home the weekend before and I didn't want to do laundry.
Anyway, I found a pair of boyfriend jeans that I am in love with, probably more than I will ever love a man. They fit perfectly and are so comfortable and look sooo cute. They also saved me sooo much time, now I don't have to go on dates, trick a guy into liking me then borrow his jeans in order to wear "boyfriend jeans". Thank you my beautiful darling Forever 21 Jeans. We will be together forever or at least until you are thread bare.

At first, when I tired them on I wasn't sure how I felt about the wider cut of the jeans. I am a skinny jeans kinda gal. So, at first I was like "I look fat.", but then I tried them on with a few other things and I was like "Ok, they are cute even if I look a little heavier. At least I'll look a little trendy." Then I got home and put them on again because I am crazy and this is my shopping process and I was like "Ok, these are cute and so am I. I don't look heavier AT ALL. I'm crazy." Then, I wore them all day on Sunday and the Homeless Guy around the corner told me I was a "Cutie". So, needless to say I love them now. I even took a nap in them, because I just happened to fall asleep in them in the middle of the day, and I swear it was the best nap of my life.

So forget getting yourself a boyfriend and get your self a pair of Boyfriend Jeans.

Here's a super poor quality image of by beloved jeans.

End of Semester Favorites!

So, I have a few favorites that I came across in the past few weeks. I really like them because they are little ways to pamper myself in this really hectic crazy part of the semester with term projects and finals going on at the same time! They are also super cheap and I always love that!

1.  Yes, I went and got another lip-stick from Rimmel matte collection. I loved the other one so much I just had to get another. This on is an orangey red shade, but more red. It also smells really good like the other lip-stick. I have worn it two are three times and I have gotten loads of compliments when wearing it. So  that always boosts the ratings when other people respond well.

 2. Ok, so this is a little embarrassing but still a favorite none the less and besides the embarrassment factor I felt I should still share. It is the Sally Hanson Zero Bumps Bikini Spray. First of all it works and that alone makes it a favorite for me. I have very sensitive skin and my bikini line is no exception, to say the least. So this is like magic in a bottle for me. I have never been more excited to wear a swim suit over the summer since I had to worry about such a thing as a bikini line.
Furthermore, besides the fact that it actually works, it smells really good too, like a very mild vanilla sent, it can fit in a makeup bag easily and you can spray it from any angle.  I don't remember the price off the top of my head but I could tell you now I would pay even more for it than I did. That is how much I LOVE this product! I got this at a Duane Reade, but I am sure it could be found where ever drug store beauty products are sold.

3. I got this lip exfoliator from E.L.F a few posts back when I went to the new E.L.F flagship store. This is my favorite product I bought on that trip. This too, really works. It smells so good and tastes good too. The main exfoliant is sugar so that is lovely. I use it about every other day and since I have started using it I have noticed a dramatic improvement in the state of my lips. Not that they were horrible beforehand, but now ,if I should say so myself, they are lovely! I believe the produc was about $3 if I am recalling correctly.  This too I would be willing to pay more for. I highly recommend it.

4. Last but not least is Lana Del Rey's new song "Young and Beautiful"  from the movie "The Great Gatsby". I have yet to see the movie but this song!! Oh my, I have it on repeat as I type this up. I am no music critic, but I think it is one of the best songs I have heard in a while.
Enjoy!

Big News!! (For me Anyway)

Guess who has an internship for the summer?? This girl!!

I am not interning at DVF, like I was hoping at first. Instead, I am interning at Trish McEvoy Cosmetics over the Summer and I think it will be a far better fit. It is what I would call a luxury cosmetics and skin care company. I am getting paid and I am also will receive a stipend for product! I am so excited! I had the interview this past Tuesday and I am so thrilled and grateful that they think I will be an asset to the company. I owe my cousin indefinitely, who has worked there for years already, because she got the interview for me and put a really good word in for me.
I am also excited that I will likely have, in my opinion, interesting content for the Summer since I will be in the city all the whole time. At home it is a slower pace and I feel like I would take much longer to come across interesting content to post about.

Below is the outfit I wore to the interview:

OK! So the last little thing I want to tell you is kind of ironic because of where I will interning over the Summer, but still exciting and it is that E.L.F opened up a flagship store Greenwich Village. Those of you who are not familiar with E.L.F, it is a SUPER AFFORDABLE makeup line and has every thing you would ever need. Most of its products are below $5.00, some palettes and sets are more expensive than that but you are getting a deal with those too. I went to the store today to check it out and it is lovely. It looks way more expensive than it really is. They just need to work on their placement of prices, but their employees were so nice and super helpful! I bought about 7 or 8 things and it was under $20.00. I will be going back for sure and soon!

Here is a photo I snuck, since most stores don't allow photography and I didn't ask if I could take it! (I know I am such a wild child ; ] ) Sorry that it a little fuzzy.

Things I am Loving!!

I needed a change as of recently and I decided that change would be wearing lip stick.  I usually go for a hair cut when I need a change, but lipstick is way cheaper and less of a commitment. So I picked up this Rimmel matte lipstick and have been wearing it non-stop. It is fairly long lasting and it smells really good, which I was surprised about. I love it and I am eager to get my hands on another shade from their matte collection.
I know nothing about make-up really. I know I like to wear it and I know that enjoy putting it on but I don't know anything much more than that. I do know that I love this BB Cream from Rimmel. I don't even know how to apply it , I have been using a makeup sponge and that has been working just fine. BUT I still love it and I bet I would love it even more if I knew what I was doing. It has good coverage and feels lightweight. If you know anything about BB Creams please comment below. I would love to learn more.
I got these darling studs at a second hand store and I love them. Not much more to say about them than that!
These too are from a second hand store. How cool are they?! I can't wait to wear them.
This nail polish is the main reason I decided to write this post. I put it on last Wednesday and took it off today (the next Thursday) just as it was starting to chip. I love the color and I really love how long it stayed on with out chipping! It reminds me of a fish scales or something aquatic. I don't think that is appealing to most people but it is to me!

Spring is Here!

Spring has sprung today in The Big Apple and I dressed for the occasion! Today I wore my new Forever 21 coral sweater over a Nasty Gal polka-dotted sheer button up, with my new statement necklace and earrings ,that I have had for a while, from Forever 21. My pants are black Bull Head Jeans from Pacsun.

I have the best view!

Affordability Is In. (In My Opinion)

Fashion is clearly one thing that I love. However, there is another thing that I love almost just as much, and that is affordable fashion. As a fashion student there is pressure to dress well which I am totally fine with but I also have limited funds like the average college student. That is why I love Forever 21, H&M , T.J Maxx, etc. I love places because you can find the latest trends and look great with out burning a hole in your handbag. One of the latest trends I have been pining after has been the "haute sweatshirt". Which basically is just a sweatshirt that you can dress up. I always love when comfort and fashion collide.

The sweatshirt  in this case, is really a just a rib knit sweater in the traditional shape of a sweatshirt. I would pair this shirt with a button up underneath and a statement necklace. The color is perfect spring as it will pair great with white jeans, which are a must this spring.

I really adore this necklace. I would say that my personal style is more feminine than anything else. Although  it is very feminine this is the perfect statement necklace to carry me from Winter to Spring as we enter March.

I love this t-shirt because it is a twist on the classic white "T". Around the neck, sleeves and the pocket is a faux satin trim. It really dresses up the t-shirt. I think this shirt would look best paired with black skinny jeans and ankle boots.

Lastly, here are a the sunglasses that I mentioned a few posts back. These are the only item in this post that I  did not get from Forever 2. I actually got them from Loehmann's, which is a discount retailer. I do warn if you shop there to look carefully. They do get a lot of not so great over stock from other stores, however you do find some great things with searching like these sunglasses in my opinion.

Lastly, below are some photos form HARPER BAZAAR street style that showcase the "Haute Sweatshirt"trend from London Fashion Week and New York Fashion Week. These ladies are really doing it right!
